Beginning in spring 2012, the State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR™) will replace the Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills (TAKS). Lubbock ISD has provided valuable resources to learn more about testing changes for parents and students. Click here for more information.

Iles Elementary School offers a unique opportunity found nowhere else in LISD.  Our Fine Arts Program offers Kindergarten through 5th grade students the opportunity to discover artistic talents through tap and jazz dance, music, orchestra, art, steel drums, guitar, and piano, while attending PE every day as well!

Each student, grades 2 through 5, will be spending some time in the next few days to set a personal goal for their remaining unit assessment and their STAAR test scores.  We will be referring to these goals a great deal, and keeping our students focused on their goals.  Please encourage your student to share their goals with you and to keep working hard to achieve those goals!
